Is This the Year Texas Will Expand Medicaid?

In addition, there is more talk among legislators that Texas can no longer afford to leave federal matching funds on the table - $9 for every $1 we would spend. Accepting Medicaid expansion would provide health insurance to 1 million low-income Texans, inject the state’s economy with health-related spending, and help save rural hospitals. State Representative Lyle Larson (R-San Antonio) recently wrote an op-ed for the Austin American Statesman on the benefits of accepting Medicaid Expansion: Refusing to Expand Medicaid Is the Wrong Call.
