Helping Leagues engage in effective advocacy at all levels of government

• Members of US Congress: State and local League presidents are encouraged to make appointments to introduce themselves to members of Congress in order to establish a dialogue on issues of importance.  LWVUS Guide and Materials
• Texas Legislators: Please log any visits with legislators here. Leagues are encouraged to make appointments to meet with their legislators to discuss League priority issues.

• Leagues only act on an issue when we have a local, state, or national position or are acting under League principles.
• Leagues never lobby in opposition to a League position.
• Leagues may use any local, state, or national position to lobby at the local governmental level only without asking for authorization from state or national
• Leagues need permission from LWVTX before taking action at the state level and from LWVUS before taking action at the national level
