Dear Joleen,
Despite the summer heat, your League of Women Voters of Texas is still hard at work, albeit, much of it is behind the scenes right now. We are:
- Participating in the Secretary Of State Election Law Seminar;
- Keeping up with the Legislature on upcoming Committee Interim Charge Sessions and Special Sessions called by the Governor;
- Preparing for the 2021 Senate Bill 1 trial;
- Building League strength with local League summer training sessions; and
- Preparing for the November Constitutional Amendments election.
We’re excited to announce that we received a Truth in Democracy Grant from LWVUS! See below for more information.
I hope you are staying cool this summer, and are able to re-energize yourself for the work ahead in the rest of 2023 and going into 2024.
Respectfully,

In preparation for the 2024 elections, we are planning activities concerning Mis- and Disinformation about elections to restore and rebuild trust in our democracy. We're excited to announce that we received a grant from LWVUS to:
- Educate the public with information and tools to participate in our democracy;
- Validate promising strategies to tackle misinformation and disinformation;
- Inoculate voters and the public against dangerous falsehoods; and
- Provide voters with opportunities to engage in the electoral process.

Voters Guides are Coming Soon!
The League of Women Voters of Texas is busy working to produce the Voters Guide for the November 7th election. Texans will vote on 14 proposed constitutional amendments. The League is committed to educating voters so Texans can vote with knowledge and confidence on each of the proposed changes to the Texas Constitution. To produce this Guide, we have a team of volunteers who:
- Research the proposed amendments by reading the bills, reviewing analyses and related articles, contacting supporters and opponents;
- Compose clear, easy to understand explanations and videos, along with arguments for and against each proposed amendment;
- Work with vendors for translation, design, and printing;
- Ship the printed Guide to communities across Texas; and
- Post on VOTE411 and share online to promote the Guide.
Your League’s nonpartisan, easy to understand Voters Guide is in demand across the state. In the 2022 elections, the Voters Guide and the online, interactive version,VOTE411.org, was utilized over 1 million times!
You can put the Voters Guide in the hands of people in underserved communities across Texas by making a donation to the League of Women Voters today!
